Monty---How does the bear sign look around the bait sites and where did you see the wolf? Was he near camp or one of the sites we were hunting in May? One final question---Did you buy the Montana cougar tag yet?

new rule on the Mountain lion tag this year. It is good for fall and winter. You don't have to choose. And you can buy the tag anytime. But after the season starts {I think that is the deadline} You have to wait 5 days after you buy the tag before you can hunt.

Top: I talked to Monty this afternoon and he said that all the baits were completely smashed at BOTH lakes. All of the barrels were knocked over or wrapped around a tree with a bunch of bear scat to boot. It should be an awesome fall. He caught some monster walleye and pike too! He saw one wolf at Hobb's Lake and the other was at Giraffe Lake near the Trapper's cabin by the Narrows. 15 more days to go!! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

Well Steve, From the sounds of Monties reports, you should have a better fall than spring hunt. Good luck man.

I talked to my buddy in Idaho today and he saw 3 wolves when scouting for his upcoming deer hunt. A tan a brown and a white one. There has to be more!!!!!!!!!! Now that hey have opened it up with a quota, how does one go about getting a tag? Are they open to non-residents?

A pretty good price to protect the great animals we all love to hunt. I'm in for one, maybe 2 if I could get away with it. Thanks for the info Steve.

The wolf tag is built into all big game tags up in northern Manitoba....U don't have to buy separate tag

Right on!!!!!!! I kind of thought that that was the way it was up there by you guys. Kind of an added bonus. I would love to get one one day. If they keep coming around my property in Wi, it may be sooner than I expected. LMAO!!!!!!! Shushhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Not suppose to do that there.
