Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone of you are getting any of the new Bows that are out this year. Let us know which one, if any, and why you chose THAT BRAND AND MODEL. I have the fever to get a Bowtech Destroyer myself. Don't think I will though, kinda like car fever...I will get over it!

I bought a brand new Hoyt Vectrix XL in '07 and have been extremely satisfied with it.  The way I have it set up now produces unbelievable accuracy -- Black Gold Flashpoint 4-pin sight, drop away arrow rest, G5 peep sight, Carter Quickie 2 release, XX78 2317 Super Slam shafts, Hoyt 6-arrow, two-piece quiver and a G5 STRIKER broadhead.  I have about $1200 to $1300 in this bow with accessories.

I have a pin set for 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards and this thing is dead-on at every range.  I took out a hopping -- he was hunting mince at the time -- coyote at 31 yards in Manitoba last fall from inside a ground blind and the shot just blew my mind.  I aimed at and hit a spot the size of a nickel on the side of that yote and he was dead in less than 20 seconds!  With accuracy like that it makes absolutely no sense to me to even look at a new bow let alone buy another new bow until this one starts to let me down.

It certainly is fun to look at new bows right up to the point where you run across the price that they want for them.  LOL!

Take care and Good Hunting!

That's for dam sure. I looked at alot of the new ones in Scheels when I was up in NoDak and was shocked at the prices. The new Mathews Z7 ran $899.00 bare bow. By the time you add all the acces. to it, you're well over $1400.00.  Most of the new ones these days start out about $699 and go up from there. Like Steve said, mine is deadly out to 50 yds and until it lets me down, I aint changing a thing.

Kinda my feeling too, guys. I have learned the difference between 'wants' and 'needs'. I have an Extreme VFT that has a lot of kills on it's resume' and there is no good reason to change. Just put on a new string and cable from time to time and keep on going. It still shoots over 318fps on my setup and I practice to 70 yards with my G5 sight. No problem at that distance either!
Nonetheless, advertising and pretty, new toys seem to get my attention. Hope some others chime in just to see!

Good to hear from you again, Gary and Steve!

Glad to hear from you as well and I am happy that your bow is shooting well for you.

There is nothing like watching a perfectly aimed arrow hit the target, whatever target that may be: live animal, 3d or other.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Hey all, I have to agree. Nothing wrong with my Switchback LD, shoots where it needs to and is plenty quiet. I enjoy going down to the shop and shootin the new stuff, but just can't convince myself that I really need a new one. Kind of hard to justify spending another Grand or more to replace something that still works. Besides the faster the bow, the further I can miss..lol
Good seein everybody's posts and havin the site back. I guess if I hadn't changed email add. I would have found out sooner.
Catch yall on the flip,
