We drew our pronghorn doe/fawn tags this year, have gotten tags for the past 4 years, but last year I got my 1st pronghorn ever. It was a nice big doe. The astounding thing is that we had loaded 125 grain bullets for pronghorn. They shoot flat and straight out to 200 yards. I am absolutely horrible at judging distances. I had a herd come in and when I shot, my bullets hit at their feet. After shots, I raised up the rifle and hit one. Later, my boyfriend asked me where I had been siting and where the goats were. I showed him and he turned to me with a big grin on his face. It seems that the shot I made was over 300 yards. I had never shot anything at more than 100 yards, so I considered her my miracle doe.

There is nothing better than being outdoors whether or not you're hunting(but you can always say you're scouting).

If that is the case, I'll bet they were well over 300 yards. Good going! I"m coming out through the Black Hills on my way to Wyoming again next month to help a friend chase bulls in the rut with his bow. Have you had a lot of tourist traffic out through Custer this summer?

As far as the bullets hitting buy the feet. I'm thinking the same topgun. It was a little farther than 300.

It is starting to quiet down now, thank heaven.
