Thanks man, I'll pass on the info. You pretty much echoed everything that I had told him about the draw length, weight and feel. I figured he could not go wrong with a Mathews either. Had a Ultra Q2 at one time, but it did not feel good so I sold it.

Hey Gary, the outback is a great bow and $300 fully outfitted is a very good price to pay for one. There are a couple of things to consider though, first being draw length. The mathews bows are draw length specific and if not the correct length it is necessary to change the cam, this runs around $100 unless you can find a used one to put on it. Most of the dealers that carry mathews bows probably have one around. At least my buddy that owns a shop has quite a few different cams. Another is the weight, they are generally adjustable by about 10# depending on the limbs on the bow, like 50-60# or 60-70#, he needs to make sure he can comfortably shoot it. That's about all I have on this subject, they are a good bow and my feeling is for a first bow you can't go wrong with it.

What do y'all know about this bow. One of the guys that works for me has a line on one that he can get for 300 bucks, fully loaded, but needs a new string. He is interested in getting into bowhunting and is wondering if this is a good bow and if the price is right. Any help will be appreciated.
