A frend of mine lost his cow elk to a gizz this fall.He had the back straps in his pack and rifle leaning on a tree and was putting the rest of the meat on a sled to pull out.The guy with him yell bear wend Jake look the bear was at 15 yard in the trees they got away from the elk.The bear got on the elk and left them alone.Wend they got out he call the fwp and they went up the next day and chase the bear off and got his gun and backpack the pack was tore up.Fwp gave him a new tag.He got some pic of the bear after they got away from it.It had to be 800 #.They all had guns Jake had his 44 on him.I'm not good at witing and telling a story

Sounds like they handled things properly and were smart enough to realize their hides were worth more than some elk meat!!!

Glad the guys got out of there with your own hides in tact. Way to be smart about things. Glad they were able to at least give your guys another tag. Best of luck to ya.
