You can use the same bow for bowfishing as you do for hunting, but most people have a separate set-up for a couple of reasons. A few of those reasons are: 1. Draw weight - You don't need to shoot the same weight for bowfishing as you do hunting so most people have a lower poundage bow for bowfishing. 2. Loss - Most people are concerned with dropping a highly expensive hunting rig into the drink never to be seen again, so a lot of people who bowfish use a less expense bow. 3. Accessories - Bowfishing requires special accessories and a lot of people don't like to constantly install and then detach the bowfishing accessories from the same bow. I'm sure there are other reasons, but it's getting late and that's all I can think of at the moment! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve
