axis deer bagged - Monday, June 22, 2009 3:13 PM ( #1 )
Well I made home after the hottest hunt of my life! All three hunters tagged out and we had the best time! My axis deer details; horns 35 in. tall, wt. 170 and the eye guards are 9 in. long. I am going to do a shoulder mnt. and tan what hide is left. They run a good show and to see all those axis come out of the woods like they do was so cool! Planning a trip down again for a FALL hunt for 2011.

Hey Tina, I was wondering what happened to you, I thought you were going several weeks ago. So you liked the Brady Ranch huh?? Hot as hell down in this area isn't it?? I think the heat index hit 107-110 degrees here today. Glad you got your Axis and we are all looking forward to some pictures......please!!!

I have heard alot of good things about that ranch and their massive amounts of Axis deer. If you don't mind, what was the hunt cost for your buck?

The Brady has 8000 axis on 2000 acres? Man that is incredible. Must be one behind every palmetto palm.   LOL

sounds like loads of fun

I think I saw something on this on the Outdoor Channel - they showed huge herds of axis in the palmettos

I'd love to hunt them some day

Axis deer is some of the, if not thee, best tasting venison there is. I sure hope you brought some of that meat back home with you!!!

I'd like to try some one of these days - so far my favorite has to be pronghorn (or elk - just can't decide!)
