Wi to Allow Scopes for ML Saeson

As of the meeting held in Wi this yr on April 13th, they will allow the use of scopes for the 10 day muzzleloader season.  Badger state sportsmen overwhelming voted "yes" to allow hunters to use riflescopes during the muzzlelaoder season this yr.  It passed with 62 counties voting yes, 9 against with one tie.

I haven't reviewed the 2009 WI regs yet, but the info I recieved is the continuation of the use of 1X scopes on muzzle loaders....If this is the case then the law has not changed at all...The one power scopes have always been legal!....If this has changed it will definitely change the "scope" of things (pun intended).....

My misunderstanding folks. I just talked to an agent with Wi DNR and that vote was at the 2009 Conservation Congress for the state. Things discussed there are just for consideration and not put into affect until voted on by the higher ups. The 1x power scopes are still the only allowed during the muzzleloader only season and all other powers can be used during the gen season. Sorry folks, got all excited with that due to my eyes not being what they used to be anymore. I'll be more diligent in my fact finding next time. My sincere apologies.
