I guess if you harvest a Muley, Elk or Moose in Co or any other state that has CWD this yr, you will have to have the local Taxi. do it since you can no longer trans it into Wi., or wait for all of the meat to fall of first. Come on Wi DNR get with the program. Transportation of Hunter Harvested Deer Carcasses and Vehicle Killed Deer from Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Management Zone New Rules Take Effect Sept. 1, 2009 If you plan to transport the deer outside the areas identified below and on the attached map, you will need to butcher, or arrange to have the deer butchered, before transporting the allowed parts from the affected area. - Under new rules passed by the DNR in 2008, and which take effect 9-1-09, transportation of whole or certain parts of deer carcasses from some parts of this or other states to other areas in Wisconsin will be restricted. - These rules were created to further minimize the risk of spreading CWD within Wisconsin. - These rules apply to transportation of deer harvested by hunters as well as deer killed by vehicles. - These new rules will regulate movement of any wild deer carcasses from 2 areas: o Whole carcasses, as well as certain parts of deer that originate from within the Wisconsin CWD Management Zone (CWD-MZ) may not be transport out of the CWD-MZ to other parts of the state. ?
