Why I Miss - Monday, July 06, 2009 8:41 PM ( #1 )
Guys,
If any of you have never felt the feeling of missing your deer or elk or whatever after sending numerous arrows into your targets, you need to read an article in Bowhunter Mag. (Sept 2009) titled "Why I Miss" by Ed Jackson. I could feel his frustration with every word. It is a good article and really effects us all at one time or another. It is a good read guys.

That's a good article, but the one that stood out for me in that issue of Bowhunter was a piece entitled, "Bleed" by Cameron Hanes.  Now that guy has my sincere and utmost respect.  He is a bowhunting monster.  His backcountry bow hunts are nothing short of insane.  He trains for his hunts like a demon by competing in ultra-marathons, which would kill most guys who consider themselves fairly decent hunters -- myself included.  I'd jump at the chance to get to hunt and share a campfire with that dude.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve

Steve,
That makes 2 of us. I have read alot of his articles and you're right, he does some insane backcountry hunts. I watched him on one show where he was huddled between 2 trees with a little fire trying to dry his clothes out.  LOL  I would have to have a 5 yr notice first before hunting so I could get my a$$ in shape.  LMAO!!!!!! I think that between him and the Eastman boys, they do some of the "best" and "on your own " hunts around. There were alot of good articles in there this month.

That makes 3 of us, LOL!  Cameron Hanes is the man!!!  I get both of the Eastmans magazines, and they are bimonthly, but staggered so that I get one every month.  I don't think there is a better magazine around as I love the DIY type stuff, especially all those hgih mountain hunts!!!
