Randy also got his goat license.  He just didn't quite spit it out in his post, LOL!  He and Jim will then come over the mountains to hunt mulies in Region M where I hunt every year.  We hope to get together for a day or two if everything works out!

I'm just going to pick one up July 7th for area 7. I think they had 541 tags left over. I can buy one on line this year I think. Anyone know for sure?

There are 571 buck antelope license left for unit 7.  Those go on sale on the net on 7/7 and all the reduced price license go on sale on 7/21.
Deadeyerik---No, I'm not rich moneywise.  I just have my priorities straight and a great wife, LOL!  I have connections in Gillette and Worland (both friends, not hunting land) and go out for mulies at least once a year, all DIY on public land.  I have only missed a couple years since 1997 and several years, including last year, I have gone out twice.  I'm going out this year the last two weeks of September with two guys who have bull elk tags.  I will help them chase elk and will also take my bow in case I see a decent mulie or antelope (rut time!) to take a crack at.  Then I'm going back out to southwest ND for a week of pheasant hunting starting 10/17 and on to Wyoming for rifle deer and antelope through Nov 4.  We also plan to scout another region for deer after our hunt and will head home on 11/7 to get ready for our whitetail opener on 11/15.  With the other hunts for birds and cats that we are talking about setting up on this BB, it is going to be a full friggin Fall, but you only live once!!!

I saw your latest post on AT

I also told my wife the next time I go there, we'll go together and hunt them with rifles

it doesn't make it any easier to watch them plan this one, and to be on the outside!

and, car, have a good hunt - kill some good ones (those bowhunters won't get all the goats - probably just a few - leaving you some good ones to choose from)

Oh yea I know what you mean. It is hard to stalk within bow range of  antelope.
Brad can do it, I've seen him do it with my own two eyes.
I was just giving them a hard time lol.

What, may I ask, is the AT hunt?

some guys on Archery Talk (dot com) put together a group archery hunt on public ground in Wyoming last year.  This year, several of the guys are doing it again.
Two of the guys live there, and they know the area well - they are just helping other archers out by sharing their area and knowledge

This year, I am not able to go, but I hate to miss it.  (I did just find out, however, that I'll be hunting whitetails in Texas this Oct - so that makes me feel some better)

Some of the friends I made on that hunt last year will be friends for life.  In fact, after not getting my antelope with a bow, I went back and stayed with one of the guys (and his generous family), and filled my buck tag and two doe tags with a rifle one day (I could have bought two more doe tags, but couldn't take all the meat home as it was)

In the next couple of weeks or so, I should be getting my pronghorn mount back - it was a pretty good buck - horns right at 15" (though a bit on the thin side - I think I posted pics a while ago)

If you go back to the top you will see I made an edit to my post....My mind re-read it right, it just didn't post like my mind was thinking.....Thanks Topgun for staightening it out for Deadeyerik...And thanks Deadeye for bring it to light....

Seriously folks it looks like a lot of hunting going on this fall....Wy, MN & WI for me again.......(No this kid is not rich either......I sacrifice things....LIke last night my riding lawn mower broke down and I mowed the whole acre of lawn witha 18", 3 HP push mower......It will buy me a little time to get my rider going...I'm cheap)

Good luck everybody,
Randy

Been there done that lol.

That is how I'm able to go on my hunting trips. I do without the small stuff all year long so T can go on my hunting trips.
