Turkey Day, B-Day and a Doe! - Tuesday, December 01, 2009 3:02 PM ( #1 )
Left for the farm on Turkey Day, got there around noon and hit the woods. No luck. Got up on my B-day and hit the woods. 8:30am a doe comes in at 25yds. Happy B-Day to me. Nummy! Good time with family and God's creations. Passed on 3 other does I could have shot over the course of the weekend. No big deal...I have plenty of meat in the freezer and got to watch them run around and play! 10 yr old neighbor kid got our big 10 point with a rifle on Sat. morning on his own place. His smile was worth a million! Still got some season left to score a buck!

41 years young and feel every ounce of it. As a wise "Indiana Jones" once said..."It is not the age sweetheart...its the mileage!" And this body has been a mile and a half too far for its age. But taking care of it now and hope to have it for many more years!

Wish I would have thought of that in the 80's when I was killin brain cells. I have a ticket stub for a Judas Priest concert that I have no recollection of attending. I even have a picture of me wearing the concert T-shirt. Not real sure where that concert went! LOL!

Been there done that. Brain cells way overrated anyway. chalk it up to youthful exhuberance. um what was we talking about again.

Happy belated B-day and congrats on the deer. I know all too well how it feels to be 100 years old, been there since I was in my mid 50's, and only wish I could remember how so many of those extra miles were put on. Oh well, as you said at least I've started trying to preserve what is left, just hope it's not too late. Me and arther seem to be way to close anymore, and the 60's were no more kind to me than the 80's to you just hope it was fun, maybe i'll know when the oldtimers kicks in.
