Tragedy - Saturday, November 06, 2010 6:05 PM ( #1 )
Guys we all talk about safety, dont forget your harness, tree stands need checked, make sure of your target. This is something i never thought about. A friend of mine shot a buck friday evening and while dragging it out he had a heart attack and died. He was the same age as me, never smoked, or drank or did drugs. He was a hard working man. A good man and he will be sorely missed. Please everyone be careful this season.

Heartfelt condolences, we never know when we will be called home. But I can think of no better way to go than doing what I love. Anytime we lose a friend or loved one there is an empty feeling, and it makes us pause to consider our own future. If I could choose my time, I think that it would be about the same circumstances as your friend. And what a story he has to tell around the campfire of eternity. You and his family are in our prayers.

My condolences as well. You just never know. All you can do is try to keep yourself in good shape, eat reasonably and exercise. Even then, God has his own plan.

Oh man...  I'm also very sorry to hear about your friend, Bill.

Life is a fragile thing and it can be taken away from all of us at a moment's notice, so let's all be careful out there and try to remember to be the best that we can to everyone because you just never know when your time is up.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve

Amen to all that has been said!  My wish is that I can hunt another 20+ years and when I'm starting to fail that some idiot will plug me right between the eyes while I'm in my deerstand, LOL!

Sorry for your loss, Bill ... mere words sometimes don't sound like much ...

There's not a day goes by that I don't consider my own mortality ... and I keep sayin' to Moi Ownself I should do a few things differently -- diet, PT, and so on ... mebbe next year?

A friend of my Dad's had a similar end ... he wuz in AZ on a goat hunt, they sacked out in their sleeping bags and he merely din't wake up the next morning ... he wuz quite a hunter, and we thot he'd have been sumwhut pleased with the way it went for him ...
