I don't have TIME to register every day ... so ... once will hafta be good enuf ...

HOWever ... on the way home today (attended a funeral, went up to the house on Sat. afternoon and to the services today, and -- sad as we all were -- it wuz a great day ... MANY friends and neighbors to share time with and get to know again ...) we stopped for a treat and break ...

Went into the local version of store where Son #1 werks (Gary's namesakes) ... they had their "Archery Season Special Flyer" out, and I glanced thru it ...

Thermacell ON SALE!!! ( ... is $19.99 a decent price? I thot so ... NO, it's NOT the Camo version)

So ... I got one, plus one (small) "refill" package ...

I'm actually as interested in usin' it when sittin' in the back yard of an evening, as I am for out on the stand ... but I can likely be persuaded to do both ...

Wal-mart sells the refill butane pks for alot less than the mfr does. A 2 pk from Conair is right around 6 bucks. They are the same ones they use for curling irons.

  Gander Mtn has 'em on sale for 19.99, too!  Hell, they're worth the "whole" price they work so good!

The good part about "wherever" they're on sale, if the other stores have the identical item, they'll price match even a sale item ... at least that's the case around here ...

I've gone into Scheels with a flyer from Gander or Warehouse or Runnings or Cabela's or FleetFarm and -- even if the sales persons have not noticed that ad -- a supervisor will OK the sale @ the competitor's price ...

That's perty neat-o IMHO, and a necessity where there's a decent amount of competition within a reasonable radius ... that's the case when we're in Fargo ... not so much in Bismarck or Minot ... Grand Forks is adequate on that front, with two of the biggies in the same area ...

Frum personal experience, I know that -- in our rural and spread-out geographicalness -- these stores will price-match even as much as 150-200 miles away ...

Of course a person hasta look @ all the OTHER stuff durin' that shoppin' around trip ... never know when one will have a bargain price on a NECESSITY that the other stores don't have on the shelf ...

I haven't yet fired up the new Thermacell unit ... wuz gonna last nite, for sittin' around the back yard, but got too tired and fell asleep instead ... mebbe tonite ...
