The Girl "Scored" Finally

Well, took the girls back out this weekend to my buddies place in Centerville,Tx to try and get them a hog. We got in the stand about 5:15 and right at 7:55, I had a group of 15 come out. All about 100lbs or so. I watched them for an hr, knowing I was not 100yds from the girls in their stand. I did not want to wack one with them being so close and blow whatever else was around out of the county. I just keep hoping to myself, shoot something already, these guys are driving me nuts. Just about 8:45 I had another group of bigger ones come out to my left about 80yds. All of them were much bigger hogs. I watched them for almost 15 min's and then with light almost gone and me hearing the sound of the 4 wheeler coming, I wacked this one. The girls did not see but one hog on this sit and he was way behind them. Sun morning rolled around and I went and sat with Emilie, she was actually the flower girl in my wedding some 11yrs ago. Well we sat for a few hrs seeing nothing, so we decided to get out of the stand and go and check out the small tank behind us to see if maybe we could catch one rolling around in the mud. Just as we were about to get out, I spotted one coming down the trail to our left. He was booking and did not stop long enough for her to get the x-hairs on and left. Well we finally get out and make our way to the tank, and low and behold I spot one on the other side in the grass, laying there enjoying the cool water and mud. The stalk was on!!!! We made our way around to get in position for her to get a shot at him. We were about 30yds from the hog but his head was down in the grass and I could not make out just which way he was laying for her to shoot. A few more steps and I was able to see that he was just about head away to us, maybe slightly qtring away. I bent down some and let her rest my .44mag on my shoulder to get a rest for the shot. I waited a bit and could start to feel her shaking. With a few words to calm her down she finally let er rip. She made a good shot and the boar just layed there. As I approached it to drag it out, yep, he got up and bulldozed into the tank. #@#$@#$@#$%#%$# Now I got to get wet and muddy. He made it just about all the way across before falling over. I still had to go in and get it ut the smiles were well worth it.  155lbs I'm going to have the skull done in a euro mount for her then dipped in pink camo. This was her first time being able to shoot something. I took her last yr but as alot of you may have read, it did not turn out as planned.
