Started my feeder tonight. - Wednesday, September 09, 2009 7:26 PM ( #1 )
Its that time of year. I filled my deer feeder tonight and I done something a little different this year. I greased the legs on the tri-pod to keep the raccoons from eating all of my corn. Two weeks from this Sat and season starts.

Car,
my son had problems with the little bandits too. They eventually hung from the mechanism enough that they broke it.  Greasing with lard is what I suggested, but I don't think he did it. Let me know how it worked and if it affected the deer in any way.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

I would suggest you put a screen around your spin feeder because I found that greasing the tripod pipes didn't keep the critters from getting up there for very long.

I got one better for ya on keeping coons away from your feeders. Take a pc of pvc pipe and put it around the legs of your feeder. I use a 3 in pc and leave it loose around the legs. When the coons try and climb up it, the pipe spins and the coons fall off. Give it a try. It does work.

That sounds like a very good idea Gary.
