Beans from a damn hickory tree................Duhhhhh!!!!!  Just Kidding Top. They are ranch style beans cooked over a  wood fire, and spiced up with some liquid hickory smoke.

Thanks much!  I appreciate it.

Any nice, big old bear will do for me.  Just being up there and experiencing the Canadian wilderness is record enough for me.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve

I learned a lesson on wind directions on the mountain yest. Got within range but by the time I got to where I would have had a clear shot, There he was, gone. I thought it was going to be so easy. Every time I get that silly grin nothing goes right.

Hey Steve, good luck on your hunt. Keep him out of your tree. Be safe and have a good time.
Gary, count me in on the mud bugs and beans, sounds like my kinda eatin, haven't had a good batch of boiled bugs in awhile. A little Jack around the fire, with some blues in the background and lot's a huntin stories is the way to top it off in my book.

Yep, they are out. Went yest. and decided to out smart the bear and get above him down wind . Apparently the bear didn't get the memo. AGAIN. Boy do my legs hurt. I did see another moose though. She was up at the top so it was worth the hike. Too bad I didn't have the camera with me. She let me walk right up to her about 30 yds.. I'm thinking if I ever get a tag and find a bull, it won't be too hard to get within range of it.

I too, have been to within 20-30 yds of bulls and cows in Wy. south of Pinedale.  Man they are some big som ****es. Makes you really feel small when you get that close. I watched one bull up in Alberta one time clear a 6ft fence at a fast walk and never miss a step or even slow down. Amazing...............

yeah, Wy is a once in a lifetime tag. One guy I knew up there's dad was 83 yrs old and the gov of Wy after him applying for so many yrs and never getting drawn, actually gave him one. He politely returned it and said that if he could not draw it like everyone else, he did not want it. That is a true sportsman there.
