I will be at the Rinehart R-100 shoot on June 21 and 22nd at Nemanstown, PA This shoot is a lot of fun, they have some pretty strange targets at these shoots. If you have never gone to one, I would suggest going to one and see for yourself.

Just returned from the PA Rinehart R-100 tournament. What a blast I finished 25th on both the North American Course and the African course. Finished with a combined total of 848/1000. I managed to only miss one target and that was the giraffe , thought he was at 50 yds and found out he was at 60 yds I managed to make it to the final target on the steel post challange, busted my last arrow on target number 8(you were only allowed 2 arrows for this shoot) had a score of 12 which gave me 4th place in the scorring. I also managed to last through 60 yds on the Iron Buck shoot, if I hadn't hit low and hit the steel I think I could have taken it. The winner made it to 80 yds before everyone was eliminated(they allowed you only 1 arrow for this one) If you haven't gone to one of these R-100s I would strongly suggest that you do, these shoots are a blast to shoot, as soon as I get the pics back from my buddies wife(she was the camera person), I will post them here.

Gearnig up for the R-100 on April 18-19 here in Sedalia,MO. This is really a fun shoot, lot's of cool targets and 2 full day's of shooting as well as many great door prizes on Sunday. It doesn't matter how you score or even if you score your targets, everyone is elligible for the door prizes. This will be the second 100 I've been able to shoot and if anywhere as fun as the first, I'm going to have a great time. If you're in the area you should try to make this shoot, even if you don't usually shoot 3D's. Steve Albers

These sound like a lot of fun ... tho I doubt there's any near enuf for me to consider ... Our little club has a few "odd" targets in the winter shoot ... even got a fish in a barrel ... no giraffes (giraffi?) but a full-body elk, African lion, hog, some exotics ... and a couple of 'em on a rotating platform ... only one possible shot on each, and that gets a bit humorous ... I've got some pix of the layout ... they save Christmas trees, and those are the obstacles -- makes it interestin' -- the pix are stored away ... mebbe one day I'll remember to dig 'em out and post 'em here ...

Well, tomorrow is day one of the Rinehart 100 here in Missouri. Weather is supposed to be rainy and breezy, sure hope that the weather man is wrong on this one. Heard that they retired the alien and relpaced him with a life size bull elephant, I'm gonna miss that ugly dude this year if that's so. Oh well should be fun regardless of weather. Son, son in-law, grandson and a friend shooting with me, lot's of fun will be poked at each other I'm sure. Will post more about shoot later. If anyone can make it come on out. Steve Albers

Good luck and happy shooting Steve. Won't be able to make it to this one either. Found out last night that my hometown just got an invite to shoot at "Winner's Choices' prototype motion targets this weekend, just to try them out. DANG IT!! I miss all the good stuff it seems.

Well day one of the Rinehart is over, shot really lousy. Rained most of the day and just quit trying to keep score after target #9. Still had a good time and plenty of chances to visit while waiting to shoot until a bunch of people decided it was too wet and left. After that things went a little faster. Everyone was soaked to the bone and plenty of mud to satisfy any kids. At least came home with all my arrows, guess that's a plus. They were pulling trucks out of the parking area with a tractor, quite a wonderful day. Really it was fun, shot the North American side today, back to shoot the African side tomorrow. Supposed to be about the same weather wise, we'll see. Will post more later.

Stevealb1948: Sounds like the weekend I had at Bass Pro Shops. A few of my close friends and I attended the annual Rockin' Ribs event -- there's an all-you-can-eat pulled pork venue -- and we, or I should say, I got soaked to the bone also. I was so wet my deceased ancestors felt it! Being stubborn by nature I didn't put on the emergency poncho that one of my buddy's brought along for us because I thought the rain would pass over. Brother was I wrong! And, by the time I got the poncho out of the packaging I was completely soaked so it didn't even pay to put it on. That would be like putting plastic wrap on a wet sandwich! I learned my lesson. When in doubt, put the poncho on!! Sorry you had a rough time of it. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

No big deal Steve, sounds like both of us are a tad bit on the stubborn side. Wonder if it has something to do with the name? LOL Day 2 went better, rained cats and dogs on the way up but stopped after our second target. Nobody got soaked, but did spend the entire day in the at least ankle deep mud, a true test of boot quality. We shot the African side and really had a good time, I even managed to shoot a little better. Lost no arrows and only one miss. My 7 year old grand son had a bit of a tough time standing up, had to rinse him, and his bow and equipment off in the creek a couple of times. Lot's of cool targets on this round, they retired the alien and replaced it with a full size bull elephant. All game execpt the elephant had real horns. Weather aside, it was a good time and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Don't know if they'll have it here again next year, but if so, I'll be there. Steve Albers

Steve: It sounds like you had quite the adventure! I'm glad you had a good time despite the weather. Since we only had time to eat a few of the pulled pork and brisket samples at Rockin' Ribs, my buddy Eli's wife, Sarah made us a home-cooked meal later that day of Prosciutto-wrapped ham and it was so mouth-watering good that I forgot all about the samples we missed out on! It turned out to be a satisfying day also. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve
