Wow, what a big punch in a small package
I just received a PSE Thunderbolt X from PSE on Friday to try out and man what a joy this bow is to shoot.
The Thunderbolt is a 28 inch ATA bow capable of 304 to 312 fps using PSe's NRG X cam system. It comes in 60# and 70# models, the demo I was sent is the 60# version.
I shot the bow yesterday prior to my 3D shoot and was very surprised with its performance. The bow is very quiet when shot, suprising for a short bow to be so quiet. Accuracy was excellent out to 50 yds with a 316 grain arrow(was using my target arrows to test the bow), I will be trying it with my hunting weight tips later this week and will add in my results then.
I am planning on sending this one back and requesting the 70# version for myself to hunt with.
I would recomend to anyone who hunts from a groundblind or treestand to go to your local PSE dealer and try the bow out for yourself, I'm sure you will be pleasantly suprised, as were the 15 to 20 people who I allowed to shoot the bow yesterday at the shoot.
The short ATA will make this bow perfect for treestand and groundblind hunting, the bow is also very light at less than 4 lbs, which makes it nice for those long spot and stalk hunts or stillhunting tactics.
