Had to spend the weekend at home. My poor wife blew her knee out and was practically bed ridden because of it. It's going to drive her crazy because she loves working out on a very regular basis. She had to keep the knee elevated with plenty of ice packs on it. She has to go to rehab now. She'll be well enough for me to head out to camp next weekend. I HOPE.

Hopefully she will be on the mend soon. And you two can enjoy the rest of the season.

Oh man... Sorry to hear about that! I can definitely relate with the shoulder problems I have suffered over the last few years. I hope she is back on the mend soon! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

Thanks Guys, she's doing well. In fact well enough that I'm heading up tomorrow to get another crack at those whitetail. She's not happy that I'm going but it just may be my last shot for bow season. I will be up there for the opening of gun season but I have a lot of other commitments to deal with. Tom and I put a lot of work in on the property this past year and we're hoping that the effort will bear some fruit. I'll give an update when I return.

Well, we got to see HIM at least. He's a massive 12 point, rippling muscle and lots of junk on his head. We've named him Bullwinkle. Too bad he was under the stand on the far side of the field. The stand that no one was in. We had plenty of action again this weekend but the deer for the most part were not moving until just before dark. I had three bucks, a spike, a four and a six come in with a bunch of doe Friday night but they all stayed out of range. Saturday morning was dead with the exceptiopn of another fox that hunted across the turnip field. At dusk a number of doe came to feed, still all too far away. The big guy showed up around 10:00 am Sunday morning some 150 yards from my stand. I hope he stays around and stays healthy until we can get another crack at him. He's by far the biggest deer we have ever seen on the property. I wish I had a picture. He's avoided the cameras so far but we moved one to where he's been ripping up some trees. We'll see if he comes back.

My brother Joe called me early this morning. He was hunting up in Orange County New York and missed a nice eight point when his arrow deflected off an unseen branch. The old eyes aren't the same as time goes on. I know all about it.

Been there and done that with the old eyes bud. I have a branch on my wall in place of the head that should be there for the same thing. LOL!!!!! Good luck for a speedy recovery for the Mrs.

Branches, like antlers, make for a very thin soup.
