In this Oct. 13, 2009 photo, Kelly Holmin, age 12, sits on a bull moose after she shot and killed it on Gunflint Trail in Grand Marais, Minn. A Minnesota wildlife official confirms that Kelly Holmin, a 12-year-old girl is the youngest Minnesotan to kill a moose in the modern era. The bull moose had a 58-inch antler spread and weighed 1,100 pounds.

Would love to see anything half that size in the woods!!! My next big pay trip will be a Moose hunt! Not sure when yet....but it will be a moose!

That is a nice bull by any standards, but if that is a Shiras, that is a MONSTER!!! No doubt about it, she is hooked for life. Good on her and her family!!!!

Kraig....I am no mose expert by any means but if it is a Shiras then I agree with your monster comment. For a Yukon moose, that is not shabby but I think I would pass him up unless it was the last day. If I were hunting only with a bow...then that thing would have an arrow in him no matter where he was or what day of the hunt it was! LOL!
