OK ... no fancy story of lions or elk in this post ... I know this guy, he lives in the next town over ... got this moose last weekend, the opener in Nodak ... no idea on measurements and such, but it's a perty good-lookin' critter ...

A keeper? Nah, he did CPR on the critter and let him go ... Havin' been up close and personal with three Mooses in the last 18 years, two of 'em within the last 13 months, and based on the size of my father-in-law's wall-hanger, I'm gonna estimate frum the size of the critter that the spread on those antlers will prolly go 48" or better ... that kicker stickin' out on the left side could give him an added boost ... That sorta thing is whut put the biggest moose rack in Nodak on the top of the list ... 2nd place is one (or more) that tape @ 60" ... but the top one is 66" and that had two kickers stickin' out that gave it the extra six inches ... Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ... accordin' to the way 'rik talks, that might be sumthin' to try ... add sum prongs or tines to the sides of his "big one" ... eh?

Of course I noticed only now ... technically, that's a game violation ... I don't see his tag anyplace on the antlers ... s'posed to do that FIRST, before the foto session ... Unless ... I dunno ... never havin' owned a Bull tag, mebbe they put them thru the ear like the cow/calf tags are attached ... Whutever ...
