My 3D shoot - Sunday, March 30, 2008 5:14 PM ( #1 )
So I went to my first 3-D shoot and shot a 178/180.  It was a 9 target shoot with 2 arrows a target.  They did a 3 score target with the small center of vitals being 10, bigger part of vitals being 8 and then the rest of the vitals being 5.  I was shooting really well, I took the fletching off of 2 arrows and hit the other arrow 2 other times.  I had a blast and will definitely have to do it some more.

They had a turkey that you had to sit and shoot and then a raised platform hog and a laying deer that you had to shoot from your knees.  It was a realistic shoot and I am going to start hitting up some other shoots in the off season.

congrats on your first 3D shoot andy.

Better watch out, you'll be getting a tournament bow before too long, as this gets to be too much fun to do casually

Since becomming a tournament archer I have forked out almost $2000 towards new gear.  This includes 2 new bows(one for hunting and one for tournaments) 4 dozen new arrows(3 dozen for tournament shootin, I tend to destroy arrows on outdoor shoots and 1 dozen for hunting), new sights, rests, stabilizers, new strings and a target release. This also includes all of my entry fees for attending shoots.(between $8 and $10 a pop)
