Always wanted to visit "Big Sky Country". You guys have some great fishing in that state as well.

O Brother! Nice buck! Thanks for sharing! I was in Montana back in '96 and spent some time bear hunting around East Glacier Park (outside the Park, not in it), and I must say that country is unbelievably gorgeous! Also, you can see every type of animal near that location; elk, mule deer, moose, mountain goat, black bear and grizzly bear. I ran into a sow griz with cubs while bear hunting, but that is another story. Let's just say my underwear needed changing after that encounter! Those grizzly bears are EVERYWHERE near Glacier! I can't believe more people don't get killed by them. There should be a season on them. I think the State of Montana is or was considering an official griz season. I'm not sure if it passed or not? Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

Tnx, guys ... as I said, I wuz happy with him ... we'd spent several days @ West Yellowstone and din't see even one elk, so we tried this area on the way home becuz Son #1 knew some customers @ the store who told him it was a good area ... We saw a LOT of deer movin' around, and I dropped him off, and went down the road about 1/4 mile, parked, walked in on the trail about 150 yards, saw the deer, he looked @ me and I shot him ... As I wuz dressin' him out, I hear son shoot ... then he walked up to me about the time I was ready to start cuttin' on this guy ... he'd missed! So he went walkin' and as I continue, I hear off in the distance ... BOOM ... boom ... ... boom ... When he got back to the vehicle he wuz mutterin' sumthin' about " ... can't hit a runnin' deer ... rotten ... stoopid ... " He got one later, and we headed home ... this wuz a 5x5, but he'd been fightin' and broke off two points @ the end, and part of one brow tine ... it's still an OK set of antlers (I've got so many hung in the rafters of the garage now, it looks like one of those fancy chandeliers without the extra light bulbs, up there), and I got a few more deer back in Nodak the next week ...
