Steve,
I think you and top should let that one go and give him a chance to get a little bigger for next yr.

NOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man that's a hoss!!!! And from the cam angle and distance, I believe he would be within bow range.

Holy Mackerel Andy!  If that's a 55 gallon drum and it's in the Spring, can you imagine what he would be like after eating berries and fattening up until hibernation time!  Maybe I will use that shotgun and slugs Monty keeps up there at camp instead of my bow!

From what I have heard that is supposedly a 55-gallon drum and the picture is from this spring.  The time looks to be 8:45 p.m. on the picture, which is just about the time those big bears come skulking out of the shadows.  I can't see the date clearly, but I enhanced the photo somewhat in Photoshop and it appears to be a "26" as probably in April 26?

Topgun, yeah that is the type of bear you hope your arrow doesn't bounce off of when you shoot at him!

I believe Manitoba has one of the biggest bears on record.  If my memory serves me correctly, the black bear was hit by a car and weighed a whopping 886 pounds in August!!!  Imagine what it would have weighed right before going into the den!  Biologists estimate that it could have weighed close to 1000 pounds right before going into hibernation for the winter.  Dang!

Take care and Good Hunting!

I still think you and top need to let it grow a bit more.  LOL    Never happen and I would not hesitate squeezing one off for a bruin like that.  He has to have a melon way past min book size from looking at the pic and the body size, but I am not into books. Any animal taken with my bow is a trophy no matter what size.

I think I would have to do a full body mount. Add a pc of glass to his back and use him for my dining room table. Think he's big enough?  LOL

There is not a scent elimination product on the market that would take care of the smell in my pants if I saw that pig!!

Yeah, he IS a bit larger than your average breadbox, ain't he?

I'm not too much into the idea of huntin' bear ... but ... should tonite's lottery tix pay off, I may change that agenda ... (I've got enuf trubble keepin' up with all the other seasons ... so, unless "independent wealth" happens to enter my résumé ... I'll prolly only enjoy y'all's adventures when shared here on the forum ... )
