MISSED HIM

Well I got a good look at a nice tom. Went out this morning for a few hour could not stay the entire time because I have to work tonight yay. But I heard several birds and got this one within 40yds. Well to make a long story short I got busted by a hen. She stuck her head right in the blind and looked at me and busted. Heck I never seen her till she was looking at me. I heard the hens behind me but never seen them. I took a shot at him but missed hit in front of him. Well I will be able to hunt the last 2 days of the season maybe even monday.

Hey WK71, sorry to hear you got busted by a hen, but that happens to us all. If they don't bust you, they take your Gobbler away, but payday comes when they (hens) go set on nest to lay that egg a day until ready to set full day. What state are you hunting ? wolffj

wk71: Better luck next time, bud. Sometimes you just can't win for trying, but I suppose that's what makes success even sweeter when you do achieve it. At least that's the way it is for me. I tend to enjoy victory much more if it was earned the hard way. Let us know how it goes for the rest of your season and Good Luck! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

WK71, Sorry to hear about the bust. Just makes ya sick sometimes. Look on the bright side though, you know where they are at least. Sounds like that Toms' days are numbered. Good luck to ya on the next outting.

I've had more situations where I got busted than actually taking a bird over the years and I've taken a lot of birds. It's all part of Turkey hunting. I love it!

Well last day of season and I did not kill a bird. Yes I seen some and shot again and missed again. Somehow my sight is off. I guess I must have bumped it sometime after I patterned it. Oh well there is always next year.

That's a bummer WK!!! My season doesn't even start until May 4 and it lasts through the end of May. However, I have a little some thing else I plan on shooting the last week of the month and it ain't no turkey!!!

Don't mean no disrespect, but I bet you wish you had checked the gun out after the first miss.........
