I now have one less stand - Tuesday, September 08, 2009 8:39 PM ( #1 )
Well it had to happen. I was checking this farm out tonight, I have 2 trail cams on this farm and one stand that I have left there for the past 4 years. I move in one more stand during deer season. As I was walking out I looked up at my stand only to see it was gone. This is a private farm too. Can't believe it. I think it was the first hanging stand I bought, so I've had it for several years. It was a big foot. Oh well I guess someone need it more than I do.

It's disappointing when the dark side takes over and people do bad things. More likely kids are involved.
The freshest tracks still have feet in them.

That sucks, Car.  That's why I'm hesitant to put stands on the "backside" of my property.  I'm not over there a lot.  But, my neighbor up the road has 2 stands he leaves out and hasn't had any problems...yet. Gave me permission to hunt out of them, too!
Like it or not, probably not kids, just unethical "hunters."

Those stealing stands and cameras are not hunters, they are thiefs plain and simple. They are usually tresspassing in the first place and then add stealing to the charges, just wish more of them got caught. We did have a couple here that tried to sell some stands that acutally had the name of someone on them and a friend noticed, they got busted. Needs to happen more often though.

car,
I feel for ya man. I have lost both stands and cam's over last few yrs. Even with them locked up to the tree's. I hate theives with a passion. I would do the mid east thing to them for stealing my crap if I could ever catch them.

If someone gets shot while stealing game cams or stands, that is the type of hunting "accident" that would not bother me too much.

I agree Nep. I have said it before on this forum, I simply cannot stand a thief. There is simply no sense in doing that. It just pi$$e$ me off.

Sorry to hear about your stand.  I know how that feels as well!

Here's a remedy to stolen stands (unless they cut the entire tree down).

Two things I can't stand are thieves or liars and the two usually go hand in hand!!!
