Attended my first outdoor 3D shoot this morning at the Saltsburg Sportsmans Club.
Started the course at 7 am, with a temp of 12 degrees. This course was pretty humbling to say the least. Several targets were uphill and downhill shots and some you had to shoot through trees. As a shooter for PSE I had to shoot the competition class at this club, which meant my shots would be at a max distance of 50 yds.
I started off pretty good, hit three 5's and two 10's before committing my first goose of the day

, I missed a downhill 50 yd shot on an feeding doe target. Regained my composure and was hitting 8's and 10's the rest of the front 15. Began the back 15 pretty good with two 12's before commiting my 2nd thru 4th goose again at uphill/downhill 50 yd shots. I left one arrow in a brushpile somewhere on the course, they may find it when the snow melts on Mon

.
After all that I managed to finish the course 200 even for a score. Not bad for my first outdoor 3D shoot, considering the terrain and weather for the shoot.
I'll be back at my club this Sat to continue the Indoor season and on Sun for the start of the outdoor season. I'll return to this club on the first Sun in April for shoot number 2. Hopefully I shoot this one better.
Well off to refletch one arrow and order another dozen as I'm down to my last 2 arrows for tournament shooting
