HOLY COW Tuttulik outfitters is gone!

I belong to another forum and the word is coming down that one of the most respected outfitters in Canada for caribou is cancelling all hunts for the rest of the year. Tuttulik Outfitters has stopped all hunts for 2008 and beyond. The two folks on the forum that work for them were in the field guiding hunts and when they got back they were handed a letter from a lawyer that said the company was in receivership and they were no longer employed. Hunters are getting emails and letters stating the same. Without a lawsuit or something, many folks have no hope of getting thousands of dollars in full payment or deposits back. Some guys are out a hunt and were leaving as soon as next week. Hope our brothers and sisters in arms/bows will get this resolved soon and can go chase a ' Bou soon!!!!

That's too bad... It's a bad situation for everyone involved; the outfitter and the hunters alike. Hopefully, the outfitter and the clients that were scheduled to hunt will be able to work something out so that the deposits are returned. However, it sounds like that could be only wishful thinking at this point. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

I had the good fortune to take my father on a caribou hunt last year with Jack Hume. Kind of a thank you for all the years of hunting trips and equipment he footed the bill for when I was growing up. He tagged out and had one really nice bull. I only shot a cow on the last day, but she was and is very tasty! This hunt was all about my Dad getting his bull anyway. I pray that the folks who put out their money get at least some of it back or can be rescheduled with someone else!

That's awesome! Congrats to you and your Dad! Feel free to share any photos of the hunt with us. We all enjoy looking at those harvest pictures, and often times we live vicariously through those photos. I haven't been on a Bou hunt yet, but it's definitely on my list. My father wasn't much of a hunter, but I did enjoy some time in the deer woods with my grandfather back in Wisconsin while in my early teens. Those times can never be replaced. A person only gets so many of them in one's lifetime so it's always nice to share them with a father or a grandfather. Wishing you and your father all the best on all of your future outings together. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

I'm one of the hunters that got burned along with the other 199. We are out $5000 +. Sure does give you a bad taste in your mouth.

There has to be a way to get your money back!!!! Are you gonna have to sue?
Love hunting, but love your family more.

Problem is braze8, you cannot get blood from a turnip. Who are you going to sue....the Inuit tribe? Car...I am truly sorry for all you and the others are going through. Looks like Boney and Bearman are pretty much in the same boat. No clues to the who, what, when, where and why. I hope you can recover something in the not too distant future!!!

Car, you have my sympathies as well, I know how hard $5000.00 is for me to come by.
Old Cowboys never die, they just keep riding the Range.
