Nope; you have to reside in Wyoming for a year before you can apply for any license as a resident. The reason I'm aware of this is because I have a good friend who lived in Cody, was transferred back to Ohio, and has now been transferred back to Gillette. He is an engineer for Marathon Oil Company. The residency requirement is also right on the G&F website under "Frequently Asked Questions" and gives some examples.

I didn't know for sure and wasn't going to worry about until I made the move. Thanks for the bad news :) One good thing is the year that I make the move is the year I will use my preference points for elk.

Congrats Car, One of my plans (wishes) is to retire in WY, CO, ID or any other western state that will accept me....I even think my wife might go for it..(Everyone knows that is really wishful thinking).....anyway I have just a few more years before I make the move and I really envy you....Good luck with all the paperwork and keep us posted on your progress.... Randy

Gee, it seems to me that you travel to hunt more than I do. I was thinking the same about you and all the money you must have ;)
