Getting Fired Up! - Wednesday, April 09, 2008 4:42 PM ( #1 )
Due to inclement weather conditions, I decided to shoot at a local indoor archery range yesterday.  My bow was shooting tacks!  What an awesome feeling knowing that my bow is dead-on since I only have 29 days left before I head to Manitoba for my trophy bear hunt with McKenzie Outfitters.

As the weather improves I'll switch over to shooting broadheads from a tree stand at a 3D bear target.  I'll try to take some pictures of my shooting sessions and keep you informed of my progress before I leave.

Best of luck to all spring bear hunters!

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

HA!!!  21 days and a wake up and hitting the road to idaho.  gotcha....  been shooting from the treestand in the yard at the bear target for a couple weeks now.  hitting where I aim.  which is good because the fence can't take much more.  have 6 arrows with field points and 6 with broadheads.  shoot the broadheads every third or fourth day.  tough on the mckenzie target.  tougher on the fence.

looking into learning how to put videos on here.  maybe tomorrow I will have something to post for you.  don't hold your breath.  doing it by myself.  computer may not work when I get done.  might be able to put the live video of the cubs fighting on here soon.  hopefully, will get the bear hunters blood a pumpin....BRING IT ON!!!!
when out bear hunting, make sure you are at least faster than the slowest person in your party!!!

That Bou trip has all of my hunts beat this year, so don't you feel bad for one second!!

TLC:

Awesome.  I'm not certain if you can post videos on here or not.  I'll have to find that out or you can simply try and let me know how it goes.  Best of luck with that.

Jim:

Thanks, bud!

Take care and Good Hunting!

jpream, how do you know if you've been drawn or not yet?  put in for the lottery at the beginning of the month and they said the results don't come out til the end of may/beginning of june.  applied for area 26 with an outfitter up there.

finding out today if the weather out west is going to delay the start of the hunt.  outfitter emailed yesterday saying he was going to the guard station to see if and how much snow they had there.  and if he thought we would need to delay the hunt dates for the trip.  not a happy camper, but better than wasting all that money.  need the global warming to kick in in iodaho starting today.  calling for up to 7 inches of snow the next couple days......

well chit.  the hunt has been officially moved back a couple weeks due to global warming and the above average(record amounts) snow this year.  now have to wait til the 18th to start hunting bears.

Sorry to hear about that!  Who knows, may be a blessing in disguise.  Fate has a way of working its magic sometimes.

Read my post to TLC.  He's in the same boat as you.  You never know.  Hunting is all about timing.  Who knows, you may just hit it right even with the delay.

Good Luck!
