this release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, you may have a faulty treestand if it meets these specifications:

• Purchased from Gander Mountain between July 2008 and June 2009
The models use an unsafe strap design, which may lead to both treestand and occupant to fall from the tree. Injuries have been attributed to this design.
"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled treestands and return them to Gander Mountain for a refund, exchange for a 2009 model or a store credit," the release from USCPSC states.
