GILLETINE BROADHEAD? - Thursday, March 26, 2009 8:11 AM ( #1 )
I'm thinking about trying the bow for turkey again. Has anyone ever used the Gilletine broadhead before. I see the damage it does if you hit the head or neck, but what if you make a body shot? does it penetrate with those big blades? And how far are they accurate? Also, Do you get practice blades for them? Seems to me they would tend to wind plane real easy.

I'm guessing that you are right.  I have never used them but I would think that wind would effect them quite a bit and probably would work best with 10 - 15 yard shots.  From the ads I saw they look awesome if the shot is placed perfectly.

Those are made for head/neck shots. That's why they are called 'guillotine'. I don't think they would work very well on a body shot. Your regular hunting broadheads will work just fine. Just get a good center mass shot. Vitals are somewhat different that you expect on a turkey, so research that just so you have an idea of where they are. Good luck this year!
