Anybody still shoot feathers out there? I still shoot them on my arrows. I'm using two 5-inch gray-barred turkey feathers and one white cock feather. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

I use feathers with my recurve, vanes with the compound (hunting bow). Reason for the difference is when I ordered my arrows for the recurve from my pro shop, feathers was what he gave me! They work well so I haven't changed them for the recurve. I like the vanes on my compound (not good enough, yet, to hunt w/my recurve) 'cause of the aforementioned metioned reason #2, feathers aren't usually good when wet.

I shoot and fletch my own arrows with feathers. I use 4 inch and an Arizona easy fletcher that is off-set. I do not worry about cock feather because of the WB. This is all on an ACC shaft or Goldtip carbon arrow. I use the dust to waterproof them. Feathers are a little more forgiving for me shooting fingers. Someday I would like to use my own turkey feathers, the cost is to much.
Good luck and be safe. NAHC Life Member NWTF Member
