Well I finally got my deer scored and as usual they are never as big as you think they are but he did have a gross score of 142 5/8. Either way he is the largest I have ever taken and to have my son with me just makes it that much better.

trapperT: The score is irrelevant, bud! It's the memories that cannot be "measured". Besides, "Nets" -- as in net score -- are for fishing anyway, not hunting. LOL! Great picture and I'm glad that you shared the experience with your son! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

You got that right., You will never be able to replace the memories you shared with your son. As mine grows, I share new ones with him every single day. Whether it be something he does or says, really does not matter, it is being there that makes it all worth while. And none of them can be measured.

Yes he talks about the deer prety often and he can't wait to get it back from the taxidermist, he says it is going on his bedroom wall but we may have to talk about that. According to him every deer we have seen since the day we got this one is a baby deer and he says they are to small so we can't shoot them. Hopefully by next season I will have him understanding that a deer like this does not cme by everyday and it is alright to shoot something a little smaller although I don't take small young bucks. Either way it will be somthing we will remmber for a long time and one day when he is older we can talk about it in detail how it all went down.
