Haven't really seen a lot of birds lately. They just started cutting the corn around here, so maybe I'll see more birds. Season opens in NY Oct 1....

Ton's of birds here in my neck of the woods but of course you can't hunt them here. I have flocks milling about just about every day. Figures. Anyway, I have some new neighbors who have a young boy around 11 or 12 I guess and I was just lucky enough to look out the back door yesterday just in time to see the young lad stalking some birds with his BB gun. I interviened on behalf of the birds and had a little talk with the young fella. I don't think he'll be trying that again. I'm positive that he will not be mentioning the incident to his parents either. I'll be heading upstate for this weekends opener. Even if the birds don't cooperate it will be nice to hit the woods and spend some time with mu buddy.
The freshest tracks still have feet in them.
