TopGun, make sure you get lots of pic's whille you are up there working on your tan. LOL Get a thermacell if you do not have one yet. I do not go in the bear woods without mine.

Thanks TX!  I plan on getting a good headnet and a Thermacell, as I have heard a lot of good comments about them.  I hope by going the last week of May that we hit the weather better than what Steve had last year.  I guess going in the Srping can be a real guessing game as far as when ice is out, when the bears come out of the den, bugs, etc.  It will be a fun experience and I will not baddmouth the operation if the weather does not cooperate!  After hunting for 55 years, I know that is out of our control!!!  Whatever happens, it will be a new experience for me as I've never done a flyin or hunted bears before!

The weather and the bears (most of them were still holed up) were very much uncooperative last spring since when we flew-in to camp on the 11th of May.  This year we will be hunting two weeks later so hopefully everything will fall into place for us. 
 
The only problems we may face is excessively windy and rainy weather and if the berry crop hits hard during our week, but regardless of the berries and the weather, you will have yourself a blast.  The fishing is unbelievable, and Monty and his staff are a hoot and some of the best people on Planet Earth!  Also, the float plane trip is an experience in itself  -- totally cool! 
 
I'm counting down the days -- 96 days to go!!

The thermacell works great for bugs. I used mine for the first time down in the salt marshes of Texas and did not get bit. As far as Canada goes, if you have never experienced the "Black Fly" invasion, man are you in for it. Juts keep one thing in mind, that if you leave anything uncovered they will find it,bite it and keep biting it until you cover it. They always seemed to get me between my fingers. Anyways, invest in a bug suit and the thermacell and all will be good. Good luck................

  Top...keeping my fingers crossed for your hunt!!  They may cramp up a bit by late May, but that's ok!!  Waiting for the pics....

Topgun, one of the things that I have found out and have been told about the thermacells is do not use the earth scent when hunting bears, especially when you hunt the borial forests. There is not that much fresh dirt around.  LOL Stick to the neutral scent for the bugs.
