FORAHUNT.com Group Turkey Hunt!!! - Tuesday, July 28, 2009 8:41 PM ( #1 )
I was talking the other day to an outfitter buddy of mine that owns Missouri River Whitetails and we thought it would be nice to have a group of hunters from the FORAHUNT.com Talk Forums get together on a turkey hunt in Missouri next spring.

The hunt will take place in the spring of 2010 in north central Missouri for big, old Eastern T-Birds.

The cost of the hunt for 3 days -- meals, luxury lodging and guide service included -- will be at a discounted rate of $875.00 per hunter.  Frank is discounting this hunt specially for United Outfitters Association - FORAHUNT.com Talk Forum Members.

You will stay in luxury accommodations during the hunt.  Here is a link to the accommodations:

http://www.missouririverwhitetails.com/pages/lodge.htm

I have stayed at this facility and it's nothing short of awesome!  You will be more comfortable than you ever have been on an outfitted hunt.  It would be a fantastic getaway for couples or for hunters with non-hunting spouses.  The lodge offers spa services including a weight/exercise room, hot tub and sauna.

PM me or call me at: 417-773-5745 for more details.  Or simply post here if you are interested.

Cost: $875.00
Duration: 3 Days
Meals and Luxury accommodations included

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve

Gary:

We're guessing somewhere between 6 and 8 spots, and we'll hunt two different farms with a healthy population of turkeys.

If you are interested I will save you a spot.  It will be a very cool hunt.

I hope more Talk Forums members decide to join in as it will be a lot of fun and well worth the money.  It would also be nice to meet those who take part in the hunt in person.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Steve

We could also make it the 2011 season if the 2010 season is too soon.  The 2010 Missouri turkey season is only 8 1/2 months away.  Those 8 1/2 months will go by fast.

Count me in as well.

2010 or 2011 don't matter to me.

Yeah, it will go fast now that the deer and fall bear is nearly upon us. Most of us will be concentrating on those species and then all of a sudden it will be turkey season. I have never really hunted turkey before except for trying to stick one from the deer stand a time or 2.  LOL  It should be a great experience for me. Let's see what kind of feedback we get for this one.

Cool!!

It looks like we have two spots gone already!

Gary "txbhunter1" and Todd "Whitetail101"

I would say either 2, 3 or 4 more spots and we'll call it a done deal.

Gary, you'll have a blast!  Shotgun or bow it doesn't matter.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Whut, Steve ... y'all mean I can't use my .264?

Nah ... I got my Nodak turkey tag today, and most years I don't find the time to hunt more than a day or two around here, so I rather doubt that I'd be able to justify such an outing to My Bride, when I seldom bring one home, bagged a mere few miles away from the house ...

Hope the idea werks out for y'all tho ...

Speakin' of which ... any comments/interest/ideas on the forum group Fessunt hunt in Nodak?

Merely askin' ... I've seen some fairly large chicks, and some really tiny ones, all in the last few days, so I know that at least two hatches have met with some success ...

Might be such a deal that waitin' until we locals find out how many birds are out there, and then see if one (or more) of y'all wanna journey to Nodak, whenever it fits into a schedule ...

NBD ... whutever ... whenever ... (altho ... I have located at least three more PLOTS areas, or connected with landowners, all within the last couple of weeks, to expand my own personal horizons as far as huntin' the red birds ... AND ... sounds as if the gang won't be out here on the opener ... prolly about two weeks into the season before they can all make it @ one time ... so, I'm merely lettin' y'all know that there's a LOT more ground out there than one old fart like me can cover in a weekend, all available and prime upland bird habitat ... )

Think that's a pretty good deal, Steve!  I think I might be able to join up!
Like the idea about the pheasant, too, O the Humanity!  Doubt I could hit one, but would be fun trying!!

O:

Bring your wife with you; she'll have a wonderful time at the lodge.  She'll probably let you go hunting more often after 3 days of R&R in the hot tub and sauna.

shadow61 (Jeff):

If you are in that means we probably only need ONE MORE and we'll have our group for our first ever FORAHUNT.com group hunt.  Hopefully, we can start something good here and not only hunt turkey, but whitetails, elk, mule deer, etc., etc., etc., together in the future.

I just talked to Frank the other day and he said that there are a mess of turkeys on both farms!

By the way, guys, $437.50 -- 50% deposit -- holds your spot.  The balance is not due until you arrive at the lodge.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Before I forget...

Frank has a broadcast quality video camera and all the accessories, so we thought we would all share it among the group so that you could preserve the memories of the hunt on DVD.  I will bring one along as well so that we have two video cameras!  We'll get some good, high-quality footage of you guys knocking down your turkeys!  The vids/DVDs will be yours to keep!

Take care and Good Hunting!

Here are the turkey season regulations for this past Missouri spring turkey hunt.  Missouri normally schedules the spring turkey season sometime after the first of the year, but it usually starts around April 20th every year.

Would love to go, but I'm already working on plans to either go down to Alabama or out to South Dakota.  If it changes to 2011 or is made into an annual event I will go.
