Mountain Lion Killed After Zoo Escape 5/26/2009 A 150-pound mountain lion made its escape from a Kansas zoo last Sunday. Police officials who responded to the Great Bend Zoo scene had to shoot and kill the 14-year-old female wild cat for safety reasons. Zoo director, Mike Cargill, told KAKE-TV that the animal escaped during feeding time, but visitors were not in imminent danger. Cargill explained that police shot the mountain lion because the situation was deteriorating quickly. Police shot the cat near the zoo’s bobcat exhibit as it crouched between bushes.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

Sounds like someone did not follow the proper procedures for feeding. I am glad no one was hurt.
