We were into elk every day and Bryan got ahead of a 50+ herd with about 10 nice bulls in it early in the evening the third night. The bull came to a cow call and got double-lunged at about 30 yards. Bryan is an NAHC LM, like myself, and came on the Wyoming Forum asking for help as to how to use his 3PPs. I told him to put in for my unit and I would guide him if he drew the tag, which he did. I also told him he would have a better chance to call one in during the rut with his bow than to wait for the October rifle season, so he took me up on it and practiced out to 70 yards. The rest is history as they say!!! I'm going back out to hunt mulies and goats in a couple weeks and I saw a lot of good ones on the first trip, so I'm rather excited to get out there and fill my tags!!! A big thanks to Gary for posting the pictures because I couldn't get them to come up on this BB!

Very nice, very nice indeed. From the looks of it, you guys were in some very open country. Must've been tricky dodging 50 sets of eyeballs. Good job guys!!

The pasture Bryan shot his bull in is about 500 acres and is surrounded by a big canyon that wraps around more than half of it. It is 1 1/2 miles from the nearest road and is a nonmotorized area off the main road. That is where they go to bed, as well as the one heavily-treed hillside where that herd laid up for the day. To the unsuspecting you would not know that it is prime elk country. Bryan's bull was within 200 yards of where I photographed a big 6x7 while scouting in 2007 and we figured he would score 370" and the game bilogist who looked at the pictures agreed!
