Compound bow for fingers shooter - Thursday, October 15, 2009 8:09 PM ( #1 )
Does anybody know of a longer (40" or better) ATA bow for fingers shooters besides the Hoyt Montega? My brother is looking for a new bow and he shoots fingers like I do only he uses a glove. He's just getting back into bowhunting and I think he should get a bow that's a little more forgiving. I have a Hoyt 38 Pro and love it but it's not real forgiving. You have to shoot a lot to be good with it. I looked around on the internet but didn't find a lot. I appreciate any suggestion or info.

I have a Hoyt Stratus Plus sitting right here at home that I used to shoot instinctively with a finger tab.  The bow measures 44 1/2" from axle to axle.  It has round wheels, which are very smooth to draw and are great for finger shooters.  It doesn't have a scratch on it.  If he is interested I'm sure we can discuss what I will take for it.

Let me know.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve

Thanks Steve. I'll ask my brother if he's interested and get back to you.

Steve,
My brother decided he wanted to try my old Darton Viper. It's got a creak to it (that's why I bought a new one & it's 15 years old) but he's going to take it in and get it looked at. Maybe he can find limbs for it if that's what it needs. He don't want to spend a lot of money right now. It's his call I guess. Thanks though.

No worries...  I just thought I would ask; it was a sweet shooting bow for me.

I finally went over to the Dark Side and starting shooting a new Hoyt Vectrix XL with sights and a release back in '07.  It's an even sweeter set-up than the Stratus.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve
