Big change in New Jersey - Wednesday, May 06, 2009 2:23 PM ( #1 )
Bowhunting on Sunday is now allowed in the State of New Jersey. Hard to believe considering the Liberals that run this State. I guess the Deer are just eating too many shrubs in the Governors garden.
The freshest tracks still have feet in them.

Now if they would open up the bear again, everybody would be happy.  Fingers crossed for y'all.

That's awesome!

That's a huge step for hunters in that state.  Hopefully, things are starting to change over that way.

Take care and Good Hunting!

Here is an update for those wishing to start bowhunting in NJ......

New Jersey Sunday Bow Hunting Law is Expected to Create Long Lines for Hunter Education
Classes

New Jersey Fish and Game

New Jersey - Legislation signed by Governor Corzine this week, which authorizes Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting on State wildlife management areas or on private property, is expected to create long lines at hunter education archery classes this fall.

Hunters interested in bow and arrow hunting who need to take the hunter education archery course are strongly encouraged to take the course in May.

The month of May normally has the smallest hunter education class sizes of the entire year.

The legislation is effective immediately, allowing Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting during the 2009-2010 bow hunting seasons. September 13, 2009 will be the first Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting day in zones where the bow and arrow deer hunting season opens September 12. In zones where bow and arrow deer hunting opens on October 3, the first Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting day will be October 4.

These additional weekend deer hunting days will likely increase interest in bow and arrow deer hunting and increase the number of applicants for hunter education archery classes this fall. Very few hunter education classes are held during the summer and fall hunter education classes fill quickly. The anticipated increase in the interest in bow hunting may make it even more difficult to register for a class this fall.

Don’t delay, take the course in May. Register for a hunter education class today at http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/hunted.htm . Home study materials for the course are entirely online, including the video. Printed course material and DVDs are also available from license agents throughout the state.

Good for them!!!  Now if they would just open up the bear hunting again folks in the pine barrens would not be losing their pets and garbage cans on a weekly basis.
Love playing that string music and sending a Muzzy flying!
