First and foremost, sorry to hear about your dad bud. He was a good guy from the short time I knew. Lots of laughs had. Congrat's on the animals. "11 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  I thougnt I Had it bad man.  LMAO!!! That bulls got dome mass. Good luck in the hills tomorrow and the remainder of the season up there. I opted out of Wi this yr. Not many deer seen and from what I have heard from up there, not many shots this yr for gun season either. Cats are close and wolves even closer. Got the wolves running deer behind the old family farm. They have been seen numerous times running deer and hunting. Not good man....................Time for the 3 S's. Deer season here is worse than slow. Whacked a little old freaky spike opening morning of bow season and have not launched an arrow since and that was back in Oct. Went from 150-200 pics a week down to 50-60 and those are all of the same little turds.  Oh well, that's hunting. Save it all for the late season when the rookies get out of the woods.  LOL!!!!!!!!!! Take care my friend.

All,
I got some of the worst news for a hunter and his trophy one could ever imagine. My taxi called me Tue night all apoligetic. He said the tannery had screwed my bear hide up. Hair was falling out all over the back side and that I would not be happy with the "Life Sized" mount I was hoping for. He said they ran it through a staker which is done for plain 'ol tanned hides to make them soft after tanning and when hides are used for a mount, they do not go through this machine. He said even the shot hole had a big bald spot around it. I am just sick. He says he could do a good job with a half mount and any spots that are questionable, he would use the hair from the backside to fix. I am at a loss on what to do or how to go about this. I can't replace this hide and if I were to try, it would not be my bear. Why not just buy one off of the internet then, right?

Damn, that's a sorrypiece of news!!!  I guess I would go with what the taxi suggested and even though it's not what you envisioned, at least it will be "your" bear!!!  Sorry buddy, as that really sucks the big one!!!

Thx guys. Part of me says this is your problem, "FIX IT" and the other says what else can I do. I know guys have had to get new capes for their deer many, many times, but........................I guess it's a mental thing.

Sorry to hear that, Gary.  That really sucks.  Guess I'd go with the 3/4 mount, tough call.
