Bear Attacks, Eats Buck - Friday, August 27, 2010 5:39 PM ( #1 )
Outdoor Life website. I hope this link gets you to the story. It is a story of a young black bear that comes upon a wounded, I assume car hit deer along the side of the road. My biggest question is why is was the deer not put down? It was obviously unable to move. The pic's in the series are somewhat graphic.

Ugly as that is Gary, all of us guys know survival of the fittest is natures way. It really sucks seeing an animal suffer like that though. You're right, if that buck could've been put down, it should've been.
Good luck, be safe and shoot straight

Man, that is tough to watch, but every PETA zealot should see those pictures, nature firsthand, and at its merciless best or worst.

Tell me that getting shot by a bow and arrow is worse than being eaten alive!  Yeah, right!  At least with a bow and arrow, the animal has a fair and fighting chance to survive.

Talk about a bad day to be a whitetail!!!  Dang!

Take care and Good Hunting!

Best Afield,

Steve

I saw that on another BB and the pictures were supposedly taken by a game warden who had been called to the scene after the buck had been hit by a car and was paralyzed.  The guy should have put the deer down and then let the bear do his thing IMHO!!!

I agree top, if it was a warden doing the pic taking, then he should have done the right and humane thing, then let the bear have his way. It that were you or me with one of our animals, as the wild ones are really theirs to take care of, we would have been fined out the a$$ for cruelty. I know nature is nature and this is the way of mother nature, but to publicize it that way was worse than cruel to that amazing animal. JMO
