Back from 5 very HOT days hunting in SC. Only 1 deer taken by prostaffer Amanda Buckman. It was a 4 1/2 year old 8pt. that the land mgr. wanted out of the herd. He measured around 115" and weighed almost 190lbs. Heat indexes ranged from 104 - 111 for the 5 days we were there. I have never sweated so much sitting in a stand in my life. Looking froward to the month in Canada for some nicer temps! Attached is a pic of Amanda's Buck.

Welcome to my world man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the time bow season starts here it is still in the low 90's upper 80's. Really hate the walk to the stand, especially down through the river bottom. Skeeters are still thick and no wind at all to blow them away.

Gary the heat was stifling but the humidity sucked worse!!! Thermacell took care of the skeeters, but those &%^$@^#)!% chiggers ate us all alive! I have 15 bites on my right ankle alone! Plus finding 2 deer ticks attached to some rather sensitive areas was a lovely bonus! :p All in all the hunt was good, facilities were awesome and food incredible! My only complaint was the temps. Thank heavens I head to Canada on Sept. 5 for a whole month! Those temps are more to my liking. Arriving to 40's at night and 60's during the day. By the time I leave on Oct. 2 I am sure I will be playing in some snow somewhere! WOOHOO!!!

I hear ya man. I got some chiggers real bad all over the first time in the woods this yr in places like you say. Walked around work scratching like mad for days. I had them from my toes to my nose and back again several times. LOL!!!!!!
