Another HUGE one!

Talk @ werk is about an 8x9 taken last weekend about 10 miles frum where I live. I've seen pix on a phone camera, but don't yet have a copy. 

Frum whut I can see of the video, it rivals that Candian one I posted a pic of a week or so ago ...

Well ... there's a complication or two ...

Can't seem to acquire the foto(s) ...

There's actually TWO big ones tooken in the last few days, within a few miles of here ...

I have a bit of a problem with both, however ... 

There seems to be some taint to the glory ... 

One wuz (according to gossip around the shop) bagged & tagged "illegally" ... in the ditch next to the road, but BOTH sides were posted (Nodak Law sez the landowner pays the taxes, therefore the posting goes to the center of the road on easements ... Rutten v. Wood, North Dakota Supreme Court, 1953 ... as well as several subsequent cases in lower courts) ... AND ... the shooter allegedly did NOT have permission ... we'll know more about it in a few days ... 

The critters are IMPressive, so I'll prolly put the pix up, if/when I can get 'em ...

The other one is a situation whereby the shooter got the animal, but he's using a Gratis (Landowner) tag ... HOWever ... he doesn't own any land ... HOWever again ... Nodak allows an owner to assign the Gratis license to a family member ... 

This one is a bit murky, and we'll find out more later ... 

Oh ... one of 'em has a green score of 217 Typical ... kinda largish, eh?

This is not the "8x9" I mentioned, obviously ... don't have a foto of that one (yet) ...

Green/gross score of 216 5/8 ... 


BTW, this one is wearing a gratis/landowner tag, so it's most likely "more legal" than the other one I mentioned ... 

Remember: BOTH stories are gossip, but based on fact ... if/when I learn more, or get a foto of the other one, I'll try to update here ...

That is a nice buck. I would love to see one of that size while hunting.

There's another guy, kinda a local, who got a VERY nice deer (Whitetail) on the second weekend of the season ... he's gonna do a presentation on "long distance shooting" @ our next club meeting ... the buck is a 5x5 ... tall and wide and beamy, with LARGE brow tines ... very symmetrical ... dunno the score, but I'd say it's at least in the 160+ class, or mebbe even a bit more ...

He shot it @ 600 yards ... details when I hear about 'em ... 

I'll hafta see if he can teach this old dog a new trick or two on anythin' farther away than the hood of the truck ...
