Almost there

Impatiently waiting the New York opening day next Saturday. I spent this weekend working my "honey-do" list and staying out of trouble. The wife's happy so I will focus on the rest of my packing this week as well as giving the target a good going over every day. I'll be heading up very early on Friday to get the house open and I just may give the Turkey another try without pushing the deer too much. I'm pumped for this season to get going. We've done a lot of work this past year and hope that it pays off this season. Good hunting to all.

Yep, Sat's coming quick!!!! Just finished trimming a bothersome tree branch from one of my stands and taking down a tree in a lane. Kind of late, yes, but, only chance I could at getting it done. Luckily, it isn't my primary set up, so it bears intrusion well... Now for the real "killer"....I "in process" for a new job this Thurs at Gander Mtn!! Might not be out opening morning!! Hoping the training is week time only! Good Luck, SNY!!!

Thanks deadeye & wey. I hope you folks have a great season as well. I'm pretty well packed and raring to go. Been working out at the gym each day trying to keep my old butt in some semblance of order. I love to cook so I was elected, along time ago, to become the camp cook. I really like to do it and everyone else kicks in for the cost of the food and all help in the cleanup. It works out well. Friday nights diner will consist of veal chops stuffed with prosciutto & fontina cheese along with juliened white turnips, parsnips and carrots in a marsala wine sauce along with pan fried garlic mashed potatoes. One of my favorite, if not healthy, meals. I stole the recipe from my favorite local Italian restaurant. It's mighty fine. Saturday night will be toned down a few notches with some simple pasta, salad and bread. Beverages of course are readily available. Wine with diner of course. Beer just after coming from the field and of course there's always a optional shot of Johhny Walker standing by for after the hunt.

Thanks Ord, same to you. I'm all packed and ready to go. I'm heading ouy very early tomorrow morning to set up camp. Everyone else will trickle in during the course of the day. The weather doesn't look too promising I'm afraid. We're about to get hit with a noreaster this afternoon which will rage on through until tomorrow morning. Saturday will be a lot more promising but we'll be battling some stiff winds. I'm never too happy with swirling winds while playing with whitetails. In any event we'll give it our best shot. The food plots will attrack them if the wind doesn't have them bed down. Good hunting to all.
