Alabama Rut Bow Hunt

Tom Farrow of Shiloh Farms Hunting joined the United Outfitters Association - FORAHUNT.com recently and he graciously invited me to come and hunt his place this bow season. I'll probably schedule my hunt to coincide with the rut in Alabama, which normally occurs much later than the Midwest -- usually in late December or early January. Camp Hill, Alabama is only 613 miles from my front door so the commute won't be as bad as I had originally thought. It should be a lot of fun and it will be interesting and challenging to finally hunt whitetails in the south. Give Tom's operation a look. He's a very nice person to deal with and he is honestly concerned about seeing that his clients have a good experience and a successful hunt. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

Winter seems to me to be a good time to choose to visit Alabama, Steve ... too hot here right now, let alone bein' down there in the tropics ...

shadow61: Thanks for the good luck wish. It should be a lot of fun. Yeah, he has a nice web site and it looks like his property harbors a fair number of quality animals, and he also has a sound management plan in place to ensure trophy-caliber bucks. O: I hear you... I'm a northern boy and the heat here in Missouri nearly kills me!! I can only imagine -- and that's all I'll ever do: IMAGINE -- what it would be like in Alabama during the hottest days of August! I think I would literally melt right where I stood. Not a pretty picture by any means. LOL! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve
