A big hello to all my fellow hunting freaks out there! I've finally gotten around to posting on here after registering a couple of weeks ago. I picked up on this from the NAHC boards, & everyone says I won't suffer through the slowness, & wierdness of the NAHC boards on here! It sounds as if there are several people who have migrated here from there like me. I've kept the same log in name so anyone from the NAHC board will recognize me.
Not a lot to tell about. I was in the Infantry for eight years, stationed in Alaska, Germany, & Texas. Got out in 1980, & went to college on my G.I. bill, which really helped. I've been married for 32 years, got one son, a daughter, a 9 year old grandson, & a 1 year old granddaughter. I don't claim my son-in-law! My son was in a car wreck on Sept.1, 2002, & almost died. He had to be airlifted by chopper up to Indianapolis, & was in a coma till the day after Christmas, 2002. Talk about a most excellent Christmas present! It's been a long road since then, as he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, & is still in a wheelchair. My wife & I take care of everything for him. We have just gotten approval for him to go stay at a rehab facility in Carbondale, Illinois, which will be rough on us as we are not used to him being gone, but they will work him hard & hopefully get him more self sufficient. He will be checking in this coming Monday, & it will be the start of a new adventure for all of us. We are hoping for the best, but so far every step has been forward, no backsliding, so that's a good thing.
