A couple of friends have been hunting a big old boy in northern New Jerseysince opening day of bow season. The hunt is over as the 10 point 203 pounder has been reduced to a road kill. I'm trying to get a picture of the beast. I don't know the condition of the car involved. I'm sure the buck left an impression or two.
The freshest tracks still have feet in them.

Oh man... That stinks! That sort of reminds me of a big 160-inchish buck I was hunting in north Missouri. I was hunting a lush soybean field and walked past a tree stand that was hanging in the northwest corner of the field to get to another stand that I was planning to hunt that afternoon. Low and behold, the big buck came out with a doe directly UNDER the stand in the northwest corner and stood there for over 20 minutes, offering shot after shot after shot from the corner stand. I was reduced to a helpless spectator that afternoon and I never laid eyes on the buck again. Had I chosen the corner stand that afternoon I would have had a slam dunk 10-yard shot at the big boy. Here's a pic of that buck... He still haunts my nightmares!!!! Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve
